Business Credit Availability Program

Announced in the 2009 Federal Budget, the Business Credit Availability Program (BCAP) will provide at least $5 billion in additional funding to Canadian businesses during this period of challenging economic times. Under this program, two Crown corporations, the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) and Export Development Canada (EDC) will provide increased loan and credit support to eligible businesses.

Close cooperation between the financial Crown corporations and private sector financial institutions will help fill the gaps in market access and provide additional lending for credit worthy businesses whose access to credit might otherwise be restricted.
