Clear Your Browser's Cache

Report an e-mail or online fraud

If you use a public or shared computer with CIBC Online Banking, it is vital that you sign out when you are finished. Once you have signed out, you should enhance your security by deleting the browser's cache. The cache maintains a copy of web pages that have been viewed recently.

Firefox 1.5 for Windows

  1. Choose "Options" from the "Tools" menu.
  2. Select the "Privacy" icon in the top menu.
  3. Select the "Cache" tab.
  4. Select the "Clear Cache Now" button.
  5. Select "OK" to close the "Options" window.

Firefox 1.0 for Windows

  1. Choose "Options" from the "Tools" menu.
  2. Select the "Privacy" icon in the "Options" menu.
  3. Select the "Clear" button to the right of the "Cache" option.
  4. Select "OK" to close the "Options" window.

Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 or later for Windows

  1. Choose "Internet Options" from the "Tools" menu.
  2. Select the "General" tab.
  3. From the Temporary/Internet files section, select "Delete Files" and then select "OK".
  4. Deleting cached files may take a while. When the browser is done, select "OK".

Netscape Navigator 7.2 or later for Windows

  1. Choose "Preferences" from the "Edit" menu.
  2. Select the triangle next to "Advanced".
  3. Select "Cache".
  4. Select the "Clear Cache" button.
  5. Select "OK" to close the "Preferences" window.

Apple Safari 2.0 or later for MacOS

  1. Choose "Empty Cache" from the Safari menu.

Firefox 1.0 for MacOS

  1. Choose "Preferences" from the "Firefox" menu.
  2. Select "Privacy" icon from the menu.
  3. Select the "Clear" button to the right of the "Cache" option.
  4. Select "OK" to close the window.
