Like other Canadians, bank employees were quick to heed the call to fight for their country during World War I and World War II. Whether fighting in the trenches, rescuing ledger books from bombed-out rubble or knitting socks, employees of The Canadian Bank of Commerce and the Imperial Bank of Canada did whatever they could to contribute to the war effort.
CIBC Remembers commemorates the efforts of staff and offers a glimpse into banking life during those turbulent years. The Commerce and the Imperial did much to honour those who served during the war years and CIBC is proud to honour them again.
