If you’re a personal banking client, you can use Journie Rewards with any of your CIBC debit and credit cards, except all Simplii cards.

If you're a Business Banking client, you can use Journie Rewards with your business debit card or select credit cards such as CIBC Aventura® Visa* Card for Business, CIBC Aeroplan® Visa* Business Card, and CIBC bizline® Visa* Card. At this time, remaining business credit cards aren’t eligible.

Yes, this program is exclusive to registered Journie Rewards account holders who are also CIBC clients. To register your Journie Rewards account, visit Journie RewardsOpens a new window in your browser., or download the Journie app. You can also register by clicking “Link to Journie Rewards” on this page and following the instructions.

On this page, select “Link to Journie Rewards” and sign on using your CIBC Online or Mobile Banking credentials. Once signed in, you will have two options:

• If you don’t have a Journie Rewards account, select the “Register and link to your CIBC cards” option. You will be asked to confirm your personal details and accept program terms & conditions to submit your registration request. Once done, you will receive an email from Journie Rewards to complete registration which you must do within the next 7 days. 
• If you do have an existing Journie Rewards account, select the “Link your existing Journie Rewards to CIBC” option. After that enter your 16-digit Journie Rewards account number and accept the terms and conditions to complete linking.

In both cases you'll get an email from Journie Rewards confirming the link was successful. If you have multiple debit and credit cards, all of them will be automatically linked with Journie Rewards.

If you’re a primary cardholder, any authorized users will automatically be linked to your Journie Rewards account. Authorized users can’t link their authorized-user cards to Journie Rewards. Only a primary cardholder can link the card. Authorized users will need to use the primary cardholder’s Journie Rewards account and pay with their CIBC card to get the benefit.

If you're paying at the pump, enter your 10-digit phone number that is tied to your Journie Rewards account, and then pay with your linked CIBC card or mobile wallet. For in-store purchases, present your Journie Rewards card or app and then pay with your linked CIBC card or mobile wallet. You’ll get the discount automatically, whether you pay at the pump or in-store.

Yes, you’ll save 3 cents per litre¹ on gas and still earn existing rewards on your CIBC credit card.

Yes, you‘ll get the gas discount, in addition to other benefits and gas saving offers from Journie Rewards.

There’s no minimum amount of gas you need to buy to get the discount. The maximum is 100 litres for each fill-up. As long as you’re under 100 litres, you’ll automatically save 3 cents off every litre on all types of fuel, including diesel.

Yes, you can use Apple Pay, Samsung Pay or Google Pay to get the gas discount with any eligible CIBC card.

No, you only need to link one CIBC card to Journie Rewards. Any new or replacement cards you get after will be linked automatically.

It can take up to 2 business days for your cards to be linked. You can check your linked status on your Journie app. Then you can start saving 3 cents per litre¹ on gas at participating stations.
