Preference will be given to students who identify as part of one or more of the following groups: Indigenous Peoples, members of the Black community and women
Be a citizen or permanent resident of Canada or legally eligible to work in Canada
Currently a second or third year student
Be able to participate in and complete a summer internship with CIBC in one of the following business units:
Commercial Banking
CIBC Private Wealth: Private Banking and Wood Gundy
CIBC Asset Management

Scholarship will be awarded to up to 9 bachelor degree level students.

Recruitment timelines
January to March
Experience asset management hands-on through a summer program that combines in-class training with a ten-week internship.
Eligibility criteria
Available to students who self-identify as women who are completing their second year of studies at any Canadian university and are interested in learning more about investments and asset management
Preference could be given to students who have studied finance, economics, business, math, science or engineering in their first two years of undergraduate studies
Candidates will have a strong track record of academic success while balancing extracurricular activities
Candidates will have a natural curiosity for financial markets and investing
Investment knowledge and strong research, reporting and technical skills would be beneficial but not required
Financial assistance
Students will complete 4-5 weeks of intensive programming beginning in May, followed by an approximate 10-week internship with CIBC
Students will be responsible for their own accommodations throughout the 10-week paid by sponsor internship
Faculty and corporate partners will develop curriculum grouped into three main themes: technical skills, industry knowledge, and career success
Ivey and CIBC will use a co-creation approach to further refine and deliver the proposed curriculum
Expert panels and discussions, possible involvement of third-party investment industry participants (e.g., Bloomberg, CFA Institute) and Career Management programming will be incorporated
Ivey will partner with industry to create an active network and engagement events for participants in the program
Yes! Many of our students continue to become full-time employees once they complete their work term. You can discuss career opportunities with your supervisor during your work term.
Some of our student positions are also available for recent graduates, but most are tied to the academic term. Recent graduates can explore a range of programs designed for graduates or explore all CIBC career opportunities.
