What you’ll need
Before you start, make sure you have:
- Your CIBC Advantage Debit Card® or credit card
- Access to one of the phone numbers you have on file with us
- Your phone or smartphone so we can send you a verification code
How to reset your password
Tips for creating a strong password:
- Make your password at least 16 characters or longer
- Choose a unique password that you don’t use for any other service
- Memorize your password and don’t share it with anyone
- Don’t use personal information or a close relative’s, including birthdate, telephone number or address
- Don’t use more than 2 characters that typically appear in order, like “abc” or “123”
- Don’t repeat the same characters 3 or more times, like “aaa” or “000”
Tips to prevent being locked out of your account
- On the mobile app, you can see what you’re typing by selecting the eye icon next to the password
- Make sure you have all relevant phone numbers on file with us, including any international numbers
- Check which international numbers we can send verification codes to Opens in a new window.
